Ethique's Story and Mission

Brianne West, the CEO and Founder, started Ethique in her kitchen in 2012 when she began experimenting with solid shampoo bars. Today, Ethique offers over 100 products in their range.

Ethique creates conscious and concentrated haircare, skincare, body care, and more products to help make giving up the bottle easier. All of their products are 100% plastic-free, certified vegan, cruelty-free, and palm-oil free. Additionally, their packaging is 100% plastic-free.

Ethique's Regeneration Efforts

As of 2021, Ethique has saved over 20 million single-use plastic bottles from being made or disposed of in landfills around the world, over 3 million gallons of water from being wasted, and have planted over 350,000 trees. This is only the beginning!

Compact by Design

Ethique has created the "Compact by Design" initiative to identify products that, while they may not always look very different, have a more efficient design. With the removal of excess air and water, products require less packaging and become more efficient to ship. At scale, these small differences in product size and weight lead to significant carbon emission reductions.

Ethique's Sweet & Spicy Volumizing Shampoo Bar brings life, volume, and bounce to fine or flat hair. It lathers great and features nourishing ingredients like fairly traded cocoa butter and Samoan coconut oil, which nourish and soften without weighing strands down, while a pinch of sea salt gives new life to hair.

Cost and Environmental Benefits

Each shampoo bar lasts at least 80 washes, equivalent to three bottles of liquid shampoo, saving you money and the planet. To use, simply stroke the bar down wet hair, and it will lather.

Ethical and Sustainable Ingredients

Ethique's products are formulated using vegan, cruelty-free, palm oil-free, paraben-free, and renewable ingredients, sourced from sustainable producers paid a fair wage.

Plastic-free Packaging

The shampoo bar's packaging is recyclable and home-compostable. Simply tear up the box and pop it in your compost bin or bury it in your garden to return nutrients to the soil.
